Summit Background

In the carbon neutral era, heavy-duty vehicles including commercial vehicles and non-road mobile machinery, that emit excessive NOx, PM and GHG are facing industrial demands for zero-emission technology upgrades.

Currently, there are two main technical paths to meet zero emissions: low-carbon alternative fuel ICEs represented by LNG, methanol, hydrogen, ammonia and even e-fuel, as well as HEV, PHEV, BEV and FCVs. However, both alternative fuel ICEs and electrification have encountered difficulties like immature technology (e.g. insufficient battery energy density and too long recharge time) and incomplete charging and swapping infrastructure.
